Financial remuneration data products

Co-designing and prioritising future-focused concepts for product roadmap

How?: Engaging FIRG members (Financial Institutions Remuneration Group) to understand their priorities and internal decision-making.

Project summary

Problem:

The Financial Institutions Remuneration Group (FIRG) offers remuneration and benefits data for the financial sector.

Post-COVID, FIRG’s data collection and delivery structure no longer align with the faster evolving markets, like digital.

Process:

Engaged HR and remuneration professionals through user research, co-design, and concept testing at the annual conference. As well as the committee.

Outcomes:

  • Understanding member’s priorities and decision-making. Service design opportunities to improve product delivery.

  • Future-focused data solutions concepts for the FIRG job matching matrices product.

My role:

Human Centred Design consultant working in house.

Member engagement: HCD process, recruitment of participants, co-design facilitation, interviews.

Ideation: concept boards, prioritisation workshops during annual member conference. Engagement with Committee.

Final deliverables: discovery and ideation reports

I spent three months in-house as an embedded consultant, running the project independently while working closely with the team.

This hands-on approach helped me understand their data remuneration products and get input for key decisions along the way.
